I decided to make a thread about this since I see a lot of people complaining about not being able to activate their in-game console. **An admin may want to make this a sticky.** If there is already a similar thread about this, please delete it. I tried finding threads about it, but didn't find any. First of all I want to say that this method has worked on Norwegian and German keyboards. I guess it works on any other non-US keyboard as well. If not, I'm sure I'll notice it further down in this thread. Part 1 * First of all you need to start up Counter-Strike: Source * Enter 'Options' * Choose the 'Keyboard'-tab * Choose 'Advanced' * Select 'Enable developers console (~)' * Exit game Part 2 * Find the folder where Counter-strike: Source's config-file is located. An example of the location is C: Valve Steam SteamApps counter-strike source cstrike cfg * Open up your config.cfg in Notepad (or any other text-editor that rocks your boat) * Add the following line in the config.cfg: bind '/' toggleconsole * Save and close the file * Start up Counter-Strike: Source * Join a game * Press the key that used to be the default console key (The key on the left side of the 1-key) Voila. That should do it for most people having problems with the console. Remember you actually have to join a game to make the console appear for some reason. At least I can't enter the console from the startup-screen. You can do this in another way, by creating a file called autoexec.cfg in the /cfg folder, and adding custom console commands in that file, since config.cfg seems to forget custom commands. If you create this file,it will automatically launch everytime you start up Counter-Strike: Source, as long as you name it autoexec.cfg This guide also works in Half-Life 2. The config.cfg of Half-Life 2 is found in the 'Half-Life 2 folder'/hl2/cfg Now change those rates, and hate the net_graph for displaying too much choke and loss, and start fragging! Noclip Allows you to fly trough your level without player collisions. Requires sv_cheats to be set to 1. Developer 2> Developer mode enables more verbose console.
